Tenacious nature
squeezes gently through the wall
will not be denied.

Tenacious nature
squeezes gently through the wall
will not be denied.
Ivy snakes around
a tree, tall, strong and rooted
providing a home.
Hedges, trees, put on
a show of joy and welcome
display their blossoms.
A single, perfect
golden weed amidst the leaves
dandelion love.
All the pretty plants
opening to the sunshine
Spring in its glory.
Trees get cold feet too
bushy shrubs pay attention
wrap themselves around.
Black against the gold
scribbles dark on light, tracings
on a Winter sky.
Whose was this red bed?
Abandoned to the weather
swallowed by a tree.
A seasoned tree lifts
its limbs to sun, rain, wind, snow,
welcomes what life brings.
Primroses in a
ditch, surviving wind and rain,
lighting up the gloom.
I am currently putting together a collection of poetry including photographs which I have taken myself along the river. The collection will be called The Red Petticoat and it’s almost ready.
